Marc-Antoine BurgenerCo-founder
Marc-Antoine's story is an entrepreneurial journey. From a very young age, he was immersed in the skincare world, listening to his grandmother's stories about Lynell's golden years. After graduating from HEC Lausanne in 2015, Marc-Antoine's passion for action sports, music, and business led him to become his brother Pat's agent, supporting him in his career as a professional snowboarder and musician. At the same time, he co-founded Alaïa, a company aiming to revolutionize action sports facilities in Switzerland.
In 2018, Marc-Antoine launched WABS, a talent management and digital marketing agency that would eventually become the cornerstone of all his new startups. Two years later, he opened Le Spot, a poke bowl takeaway based in Lausanne that mainly sources local and seasonal products. In 2023, Marc-Antoine continues to push boundaries, running Oversey and Oversey Records with his brothers Pat & Max—an ethical clothing brand and a music label, respectively.
After meeting Manon in 2021, they decided to give his grandmother's brand a second life. Lynell Switzerland was born.
Manon von GraffenriedCo-founder
Manon’s journey in the world of skincare began in Paris, where she was born to Swiss-German parents. Inspired by her mother’s dedication to skincare, Manon embraced the self-care ritual from a young age, thanks to the range of high-quality products available in French pharmacies. Her path led her to Lausanne, where she pursued her bachelor’s degree at the EHL Hospitality Business School. A pivotal moment came during her internship in New York, where she immersed herself in the competitive beauty market in the United States, further fueling her passion.
Manon’s career evolved as she explored various marketing roles in the skincare industry. However, it was her collaboration with the luxury medical brand Dr Burgener Switzerland, founded by Marc-Antoine’s mother, that truly shaped her path. Working alongside skin experts and dermatologists in Mont-sur-Lausanne, she was able to acquire new skills, including aspects of product development, and thus play a key role in developing products and formulas, culminating in the creation of Lynell Switzerland.

Lynell Switzerland is committed to offering cosmetic products that celebrate individuality and diversity. To express this, we decided to reinterpret symbols generally used for signage in order to create the “Lynellois.”

These characters break the molds that society tries to force us into. Each character has their own style, personality, and mindset, because they are free to thrive in any environment and be accepted for who they are, just as they are.

The Original Brand Founded in 1955

In 1955, Swiss doctor Marc Burgener and his wife Madeline embarked on an adventure that would leave its mark on Switzerland’s skincare industry. It all began in their modest apartment kitchen on Rue du Midi in Lausanne, where they passionately formulated their skincare products. Their creations quickly gained popularity and spread throughout the country like wildfire. However, over time, and following their retirement in the 1990s, their beloved brand faded from memory.

Fast-forward to 2021, when fate stepped in to breathe new life into Lynell. Enter Marc-Antoine, their serial-entrepreneur grandson, and Manon von Graffenried, a beauty enthusiast dreaming of launching her own cosmetics brand. Together, they set out to revive the brand. They shared a vision of creating gender-neutral skincare using clean ingredients and Swiss expertise, while keeping prices affordable and packaging environmentally friendly.
